How to keep your pet Healthy

In a day where there is more information than time to read, make sure that you go to a credible and reliable source. Our new blog site gives pet owner’s the opportunity to inform others on pet products, news, and advice. It’s also a great way to get additional information on pet medications, local dog parks, and is perfect for connecting with people who have a passion for pets.
Keeping your pet healthy doesn’t have to cost a lot. There are a lot of sites out there that promise to help your pet while providing low prices. However, often times the opposite happens- high prices and products that don’t always help. Because we love our pets for who they are, what they do for us, and the unconditional love they offer it’s important that we take care of them. Every owner should have the following items for their pet. Here are the basic necessities:
  • ID Tag
  • Grooming Tools (shampoos, dental, ears and eyes, stain
    removers)
  • Water and Food Bowls
  • Bed
  • Toys
  • Treats
  • Scratching post (cats)
  • Cat Grass (cats)

When it comes to your pet’s health, it’s important that they get check-ups often. Taking your cat or dog to the veterinarian ensures that your pet is free of conditions such as worms, dental conditions and other health problems. However, there are other things you can do to help decrease costly visits to the vet. Providing your pet with proper nutrition they need can ensure that they stay well. Use the following check list to help pick up the right products for your pet:

  • Flea Control Medication- Giving your cat or dog flea control can make sure they don’t get infested with unwanted fleas and tick. Medications like Frontline, Frontline Plus, Advantage, K9 Advantix, Program Flea, and Capstar are great products that can be used on cats and dogs as young as 7 weeks old.
  • Dewormers- Many pets can become ill from worms. In some cases if left untreated a pet may become seriously ill, requiring medical attention. Giving your cat products such as Tape Worm Tabs, Worm Protector 2X, or Evict Liquid Wormer can make sure your pet stays worm free.
  • Heartworm Prevention- It’s important that you get your cat or dog checked for heartworms before purchasing medication as it will require a prescription. Heartworms can occur during mosquito season; early detection ensures that your pet will recover properly. For pets infected with heartworm medications such as Heartgard, Sentinel for Dogs, Revolution, and Iverhart Plus may be prescribed.
  • Vaccines- Many pet owners choose to vaccinate their cat or dog themselves. If you choose to this route it is important that you have the right products. Vaccines and syringes should be bought and administered to pets properly
  • Food Supplements- Products such as Syner-G, NUPRO, Missing Link, Barley Dog/ Cat, Green-Um and others can help give your
cat or dog the nutrition they’re missing while helping to decrease gas, bloating, increasing energy and more.
  • Vitamins- Giving your pet vitamins can give them the essential vitamins and minerals they need to keep your pet functioning in top condition. Vitamins such as Vita- Tabs, Pet Tabs, Prozyme, Pet-Tinic, and others are a great choice.

While it’s important that we protect our cat or dog with the right medications, there are other things pet owner’s can do to keep their pet happy. Giving your pet tender, loving, care can go a long way. Treat your pet with his or her favorite toy, and don’t just bring it home but play with them. Doing this is a great way to show your car or dog you care about them. By being there for your pet you can be sure that you’re paying attention to what’s going on. Often times a pet may feel depressed or be in pain. Left unnoticed, they can feel neglected. Pay attention to your pet and always make sure you set aside time for them whether it’s playing indoors, taking them for a walk, going for adventures outdoors, or simply snuggling up for a nap. Your cat or dog will love the attention and you’ll feel great knowing you helped your pet.

Keeping your cat or dog healthy doesn’t have to cost a lot. Protecting them against fleas and ticks, worms, and other conditions can help ensure that they stay well. It’s important that we give our pet’s what they need, an ID Tag, bed, toys, treats, and other essentials. However, it is also important to show we care. Giving your pet the proper care will ensure they live happy, healthy, and long
